About Kirk: Kirk serves clients of various types and capacities. Having served as delegate, board member, and president of several nonprofit organizations, he understands deliberative decision-making because he has been in a similar position as his clients. Kirk seeks to engender confidence in presiding officers without excessive control and scripting. He encourages respect among members, delegates, and officers within the context of the association’s rules and the decorum of parliamentary procedure. He recognizes that parliamentary procedure is a tool for better decision-making and not an end in itself. Kirk especially enjoys teaching parliamentary procedure, because it empowers groups and individuals to participate in the vast American democratic experiment. He likes to approach parliamentary topics from nontraditional angles. Kirk is working on a book that aligns the conclusions of some 3,000 court cases with the material in RONR. Kirk is a mechanical engineer. He is a past president of the Texas State Association of Parliamentarians and has served on numerous committees of the National Association of Parliamentarians.
