President of National Association of Parliamentarians
The National Association of Parliamentarians (NAP) is the parent organization of TSAP. NAP has many associations throughout the United States and abroad and comprises eight districts. TSAP is in District Six, which consists of Arkansas, Louisiana, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Texas, Costa Rica and Mexico. TSAP also has affiliate members who reside in Texas but are primary members of the Electronic Association of Parliamentarians.
The purpose of TSAP is to:
- Support the purposes and programs of NAP
- Promote the philosophy and principles underlying the rules of deliberative assemblies through the study, teaching, and dissemination of parliamentary law and procedure
- Advocate and encourage continuing education, maximum proficiency in parliamentary skills, and closer communication and cooperation among parliamentarians throughout Texas
